I've been in many hostels around Europe and definetly, Mercado youth hostel is been the best of all of them
For just 10E i'd got a clean bed, locker in the room, clean toilets, nice common rooms, big and tasty breakfasts and lovely staff.

Hostal del Mercado is a wonderful place to be. First, the owners and workers there are all very accommodating and go out of their way to do whatever it takes to make guests comfortable. The location is in Centro and perfect. there is a modern, full-equipped kitchen, which guests can use. Breakfast is included in the price and it is a REAL breakfast with real coffee....not Nescafe....and always either eggs,pancakes, or casadeas, and fruit. Plenty of everthing and delicious. The hostal was renovated this year - everything is new,pretty, and spotlessly clean. There is hot water and water pressure too.
I can;t say enough good things about this place. Oh¡ one more thing - Ming, part owner, is Beijing Chinese and if you are as lucky as I was, she might make up some delicious authentic Chinese food for you, or you can treat yourself at one of her two Chinese restaurants in town.

Excellent Hostel, very good, I have traveled much in many parts of mexico and this youth hostel is the best that I've known, staff working very friendly, super clean and comfortable, certainly return to this hostel again and again, breakfast was even better.
