Comments (English): The stuff is really friendly, the hotel looks old from outside, but inside the rroms are confortable and location is perfect. I recommend to other travelers.

Comments (English): Although I made a reservation for this hostel, I didn't stay there. By the time I arrived, the hostel was already full. The manager told me that he hadn't seen my reservation... Nevertheless, he was very nice and promptly arranged me a room in another hostel, closed to first one, with no extra cost. So, I can't say much about residencial Saldanha...

Comments (English): I would like you to know that the Residencial Saldanha in Lisbon that we were booked into May 10 for 3 days was disappointing. It was not as advertised. Not only was it unclean and musty it lacked proper ventilation. There was no Airconditioning as advertised and not even a fan was in the room. We had to request for one anda small table fan was provided. The room was so small there was no room to put two bags down, it just accomodated a double bed. We could not sleep at night as ants were all over the bed and were biting. No breakfast was available as advertised and we were told we had to go down to the restaurant. This place was definitely not $40 value. We told this to the manager and advised him we could not stay there for another night. He would not deduct the $ 10 deposit from our bill as he said we were booked for three nights. After much discussion he finally agreed to deduct the $10.
We moved to the Lisboa Astoria near to the Marquis du Pambal subway and for $60 with breakfast was very good for value. It was clean comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The service was good and the location was just across from the Marquis de Pumbal subway.
