"A Mixed Bag"

I liked several things about this place. The location was very good: accessible to transport, convenient, and on a pretty square with restaurants and other services. The room itself was small and basic, but comfortable and clean. The only employee I met, Irina, was wonderful and helpful. And the price was right.

But I'm not sure I'd stay there again, mostly because of their policy of having no one on-site, outside of prearranged times. There is only a posted phone number to call if you lose your keys or have a question. Twice while I was there, someone rang the bell of the courtyard door for extended periods. This was late at night, and there was no one but the guests around to deal with it.

Also, when I ran out of toilet paper, it was not replaced and there was no one to ask. I had to put two pleading messages on the bulletin board to finally get a roll.

I knew in advance that Amigo had no on-site staff, and didn't think it would be a big deal to me, but it actually was. Nonetheless, if you are willing to be left to your own devices (and to open doors for strangers in the middle of the night), this place has some good qualities.

Beautifull part of Budapest with the Lizt academy, park and restaurants outside the hostel. Very close to subway and close for wakings i central Buda.
On the bad side we vere dissapointed with the room. It was not cleaned for a long time and for that reason not so comfortable. The room had no window of wich we had no informations. Without these remarks it should have high value for the money , ex 5
